Following the qualitative analysis, a quantification of battery cell production in Germany and Europe was carried out. In doing so, the battery requirements for European vehicle production up to 2030 were compared with the current production announcements of the battery manufacturers in Europe. From 2024, the announcements will be sufficient. In addition, the start-up investment requirements necessary up to 2030 as well as personnel requirements for the announced capacity expansions in Europe are presented. Furthermore, necessary framework conditions are outlined so that a large part of the announced battery production can be located and expanded in Europe and in particular in Germany.
