The Working Group 2 “Alternative drive technologies and fuels for sustainable mobility” considered technology-neutral alternative drive technologies and fuels for all modes of transport with respect to their contribution to sustainable mobility and thus their contribution towards achieving the German Federal Government’s climate and energy goals for 2030 and 2050. In addition to technical and economic criteria, the evaluation also took into account social requirements for the acceptance and use of alternative propulsion systems and fuels by households and companies.

Structure and operation

This Working Group formulated concrete recommendations for action to be taken by politicians, business and society to promote particularly effective technologies. These include, for example, proposals for the design of framework conditions and funding programmes, recommendations for R&D measures and assessments of investment needs.
