Job effects of a comprehensive promotion of electric mobility in Germany

On behalf of the NPE, the IPE Institute for Policy Evaluation calculated the job effects of comprehensive support for electric mobility in Germany in summer 2015. According to the study, comprehensive support for electric mobility will create around 25,000 new and sustainable jobs in the automotive sector alone by 2020. Adding the job gains from the development and operation of the charging infrastructure and from fiscal effects, a total of 30,000 additional jobs are realistic in 2020.
