The publication analyzes current standardization in the field of alternative drive systems for heavy-duty commercial vehicles. Recommendations to the standardization bodies and political decision-makers are formulated. Only those drive technologies defined by the NPM as future technologies are considered. No evaluation of these future technologies is made in this context, but only the status of the standardization work and any existing gaps are shown. The alternative propulsion technologies considered are the following:
- Trolley trucks
- commercial vehicles with FC systems
- battery electric commercial vehicles (with Megawatt Charging System (MCS))
- electricity-based fuels
