Roadmap for the implementation of ISO 15118 – Standardized communication between vehicle and charging point (German report)

Communication between electric vehicles and charging infrastructure is a key function for electromobility. The ISO 15118 series of standards describes the framework conditions that, in addition to basic communication, enable key value-added functions for electromobility users around charging such as Plug & Charge (PnC), energy management and, in perspective, a Vehicle-2-Grid (V2G) energy flow. Given the complexity of implementing the ISO 15118 functions, the report aims to provide an up-to-date state of affairs and, on this basis, to identify flanking needs for action.
