Infrastructure for hydrogen mobility (German report)

Interim report 07/2021

Fuel cell vehicles are a particularly useful addition or alternative where long ranges or heavy loads are required. The report focuses on road transport. In order for hydrogen mobility to realize its potential, a needs-based fuel supply and refueling infrastructure is required. The report therefore emphasizes the importance of the user side in addition to the necessary framework conditions for the development of the tank infrastructure and fuel supply: The vehicle ramp-up must be advanced in order to be able to operate the tank infrastructure economically. In addition, more knowledge about vehicle planning and standards is needed to build up the refueling infrastructure in line with demand.
