The NPM at the IAA Mobility

The new IAA Mobility will open its doors in Munich from September 7 to 12, 2021, at the exhibition center and centrally located in the city center. More than 1,000 exhibitors and speakers from almost 30 countries have announced their participation. NPM will also be there and will present itself in the conference and public program with different focal points.

You will find the NPM at the booth of the Federal Ministry of Transport and Digital Infrastructure in the Open Space. The booth is located in the Residenzhöfe and opens to the public on September 7, 2021 at 14:00. For more information, please click here.

In addition, the NPM is represented within the Conference, Summit, and Citizen Lab.

The digital mobility of tomorrow in a practical test

September 8, 2021, 13:00 – 14:00, Open Space Marienplatz

In the Reallabor Hamburg, around 30 project partners are conducting research into how digitization can make transportation systems more sustainable, safer, more convenient and more reliable. The special feature: Residents can test the offerings themselves and get involved via participation and dialog events. The BMVI-funded project emerged from the NPM. Frank Weber, Henrik Falk and Prof. Katharina Seifert will provide an insight into the lab and discuss initial findings. You can find the date here.

National Platform Future of Mobility – Shaping the Transformation

September 9, 2021, 09:00 – 09:20, Hall A3, Mobility Stage

As Chairman of the NPM, Prof. Dr. Henning Kagermann‘s keynote address will provide a comprehensive picture of what it means for the transport sector and its modes to meet EU and national CO2 targets while securing competitiveness and employment in the industry. Other aspects of the presentation will include energy issues related to vehicle charging, the opportunities of digital business models, and the importance of standardization for market development. Realizing Smart Charging – A Cross Border Approach between Germany and the Netherlands

September 9, 2021, 10:00 – 10:45, Hall A1 Expert Stage (EN)

The Netherlands and Germany have started a cooperation on sustainable mobility in 2021. In the panel session, experts from the Netherlands (ElaadNL, Equigy, Formule E-Team) and Germany (Sono Motors, BDEW) will exchange ideas on the topic of smart charging. The Dutch-German cooperation will be introduced by Paul Ymkers, Consul General of the Dutch Consulate General in Munich, and Henning Kagermann. The event will be held in English. Focus on users – customer acceptance as the key to the market ramp-up of electromobility

The transformation of mobility can only succeed if users play an active role in shaping it. But how does the idea of buying an electric car come about? And what would have to happen to convince those who are still undecided? Prof. Dr. Barbara Lenz, head of working group 2, will provide insights into the results of the NPM and discuss further perspectives on the topic with her guests. You can find the date here.
